1. Introduction & Overview

ClipKaroo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the highlight clipping SaaS platform accessible at https://clipkaroo.com. This Privacy Policy details our practices regarding the collection, storage, use, and disclosure of personal and technical data when YouTube creators and their audiences interact with our services.

By signing into ClipKaroo or configuring our chat bot integration on your YouTube channel, you consent to the data collection practices described herein.

2. Google OAuth & YouTube Data API

ClipKaroo integrates directly with YouTube via official Google OAuth 2.0 protocols and the YouTube Data API v3. Our access is governed strictly by the following principles:

• Authentication Scopes: When you connect your account, we request identity scopes (openid, userinfo.email, userinfo.profile) and YouTube Data API access.
• Read-Only Broadcast Inspection: We access your active live broadcast status, live stream start timestamps, channel identifier, and title strictly to calculate elapsed stream offsets for highlight clipping.
• No Video Uploads or Deletions: ClipKaroo does NOT download, store raw video files of, alter, or delete any of your YouTube videos or VODs.
• YouTube Terms Compliance: ClipKaroo adheres strictly to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
• Revocation: You can revoke ClipKaroo's access at any moment via your Google Security Settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

3. Nightbot Integration & Chat Data

When viewers use the !clip command in your live stream chat:

• Logged Data: Nightbot forwards the requesting viewer's public YouTube chat username, the custom clip title passed with the command, and the exact timestamp of execution.
• Purpose: This data is solely used to attribute the highlight in your gallery (e.g. "clipped by username") and render the playback item.
• Chat Message History: ClipKaroo does NOT read or archive general chat room conversations or private messages.

4. Payment Processing with Razorpay

We process subscription payments for Pro and Studio plans via Razorpay.

• No Raw Card Data Storage: ClipKaroo never receives, processes, or stores your credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account credentials. All transactions occur directly through Razorpay's PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant secure checkout.
• Stored Subscription Tokens: We retain only tokenized identifiers (e.g., Razorpay Customer ID, Subscription ID, billing intervals, and subscription status) to manage plan entitlements.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

ClipKaroo uses strictly necessary cookies and local storage tokens:

• Session Cookies: Encrypted Auth.js session cookies maintain your authentication state across browser sessions.
• Theme Preferences: We use localStorage.getItem('clipkaroo-theme') to persist your dark/light mode preference across visits.
• No Third-Party Ad Trackers: We do not load third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or behavioral profiling scripts.

6. Data Retention & User Rights

You maintain full authority over your data stored within ClipKaroo:

• Right to Access: You may request an export of all clip metadata, channel records, and subscription logs associated with your account.
• Right to Deletion: You can request immediate and permanent deletion of your account, channel bindings, secret tokens, and clip index by emailing support@clipkaroo.com.
• Data Retention Period: Live stream clip records remain in your gallery until you manually delete them or purge your channel. Inactive accounts with no subscription activity for over 18 months may be scheduled for data pruning.

7. Security Measures

We enforce HTTPS with TLS 1.3 encryption across all public and authenticated endpoints. API keys, Google OAuth tokens, and database connections are stored in hardened server environments with role-based access restrictions.
